Successful AAE meetings in Edinburgh

April 24, 2025

Reported by Martin Oymanns,
Managing Director actuview

The recent AAE meetings in Edinburgh proved to be a valuable and inspiring opportunity for exchange and collaboration. Hosted by the Actuarial Association of Europe (AAE) and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), the meetings welcomed representatives from all AAE member associations, as well as guests from interested partner institutions, even from beyond the Europe’s borders. The diversity of perspectives and the shared commitment to professional excellence were evident throughout both the sessions and informal exchanges.

For actuview, as a long-standing partner of the AAE and the European actuarial community, it was a great occasion to engage in personal conversations, receive direct feedback, and further strengthen existing connections. These conversations help us better understand the needs of our partners and offer new ideas on how we can continue to support the profession in a digital context. In-person meetings like these remain vital for fostering dialogue across associations, building trust, and sparking new collaborative ideas that extend beyond the day-to-day operations.

It was particularly encouraging to see discussions around future initiatives — both in support of young actuaries and in the context of potential joint events — gaining momentum. The open and constructive atmosphere in Edinburgh leaves us confident that many of these ideas will soon take shape — and we look forward to supporting and contributing to them wherever possible.

Many thanks to the AAE and the IFoA for hosting such inspiring meetings in marvelous Edinburgh!
