The Actuarial Association of Europe was pleased to invite you again to the European Actuarial Day, a unique opportunity for actuaries across Europe to come together, exchange insights, and explore the latest trends shaping our profession and the insurance and pensions sectors.

Highlights of the Programme

  • Keynote Address by Tim Shakesby (Head of Digitalisation, EIOPA)
  • Panel Discussion: AI Governance and Risk Management
    Tim Shakesby (Head of Digitalisation, EIOPA), Esko Kivisaari, Bogdan Tautan & Jonas Hirz (AAE Risk Management Committee and AI-WG) will discuss how AI can be used responsibly in insurance, focusing on data governance, explainability, human oversight, and ethical use.
  • Actuaries and Operational Risk Management
    A presentation by Malcolm Kemp (AAE Board member and co-author of the paper) on how actuaries can strengthen operational risk frameworks, from expert judgement and stress testing to resilience and risk culture.
  • The New “Age” for Social Security and how we can get there
    Maria Economou (AAE Social Security SubCommittee) will examine Europe’s demographic and economic challenges, highlighting how actuaries can support sustainable and adequate social security systems for the future.
