On March 25, 2025, from 9:30 to 13:30 CET, the first YAI Career Day took place as a fully virtual and free event. This initiative offered young actuaries the opportunity to engage with experts, explore new career perspectives, and gain valuable insights for their personal and professional development.

The YAI Career Day was designed for aspiring actuaries who want to actively shape their careers and expand their professional network. In addition to expert talks and panel discussions on key career topics, the event provided opportunities for direct exchange with experienced professionals and peers. The program covered essential aspects of personal and professional growth, ranging from soft skills and problem-solving abilities to entrepreneurial thinking and international career paths.

Program
The event opened with a session on developing personal skills. Ines Manai (AG2R La Mondiale) provided insights into essential skill sets, while Norbert Haller (AXA) discussed the importance of soft skills in the actuarial profession. A panel discussion, moderated by Anna Diermann (Deloitte), explored practical strategies for improving personal competencies.

Participants then had the opportunity to engage in Q&A and networking sessions, fostering open discussions with the speakers and fellow young actuaries.

The second part of the event focused on career development and professional orientation. Aurélien Couloumy (Dylogy) discussed entrepreneurship in the actuarial field, Laurent Sabatié (Skyline Partners) highlighted alternative career paths, and Sarah Schadek-Keane (Emerald Group) shared insights into international career opportunities. The event concluded with a panel discussion, moderated by Alexandra Kettenhoven (WTW), on how an open mindset and the right approach can help identify and seize new professional opportunities.
